BOTOX® Cosmetic is a wrinkle-relaxing injectable treatment made from a purified form of botulinum toxin that is safe and effective. When BOTOX® Cosmetic is properly injected into a muscle, it blocks nerve signals that stimulate muscle contraction that causes wrinkles and folds in the forehead. As a result, the targeted muscles relax, and the furrowed and frowned appearance is softened. In some cases, patients may also require a dermal filler to fill in the furrows/wrinkles to achieve a rejuvenated and refreshed look.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is FDA-approved to temporarily correct moderate-to-severe frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines in adults. Patients typically notice results within 24 to 48 hours, with results lasting up to 4 months for moderate-to-severe frown lines.
