Basically, all of today’s advanced dermal fillers work the same and restore your lost facial volume by using hyaluronic acid. As we age and with exposure to sun and other environmental factors, our skin becomes thin and produces less collagen and elastin.

When hyaluronic acid is skillfully injected under your skin in the desired target areas, it replaces your natural fat cushion, restores volume, and plumps up the skin under wrinkles to smooth them away. Juvéderm® Ultra XC, is an excellent, safe, and effective facial filler to fill in lines and creases at the mid and lower face, e.g., nasolabial folds, to the outer corners of the lips to the chin. In some patients, Dr. Leach may recommend Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC or another Juvéderm® product.

What Should You Expect During and After Your Juvéderm® Treatment?

Your Juvéderm® XC injection session with Dr. Thomas Leach will typically take between 15-30 minutes, depending on the area(s) being treated. All Juvéderm® XC products contain lidocaine, which is a local anesthetic that helps ensure your comfort, but a topical numbing cream can also be used. Patients are told to expect some redness and a bit of swelling at the injection sites afterward. Your body gradually absorbs Juvéderm® products but typically the results last up to 12 months.
